New Gear Revealed at the 2019 America Outdoor Association Conference
Winter is here, the holidays are coming in fast, and many boaters have all their gear put away for the year. That means to it time to start thinking, dreaming, and planning for the 2020 boating season.
Last week outfitters from across the country descended on Salt Lake City for the America Outdoor Association Conference. While the trade show isn't the big gear show of Outdoor Retailer there was still loads of gear new and old to show off. Here are 5 pieces of gear for you to dream about.
NRS Bag boards
With roots deep in the backyard BBQ scene comes the NRS inflatable bean bag toss board set. No need to bring your old wooden board set and worry about how they will hold up on the river. These drop stitched boards inflate with ease, can get wet, and roll up and fit almost anywhere.
SOTAR Stealth packraft
Packrafting has taken off and become wildly popular. A nice light weight inflatable kayak you can haul around with easy everywhere. However, many of the designs are small and can't handle big loads of gear you may need on a long trip. SOTAR is stepping up to the plate with their new Stealth Packraft. While it is still in the final stages of prototyping this new inflatable kayak/packraft is looking promising for those looking to hike far into the wilderness for that ultra remove river float.
Immersion Research Aphrodite Drysuit
Good-bye Shawty and hello Aphrodite! Immersion Research has redesigned their women specific drysuit. Many ladies like the convenience of a drop seat and now they have one more option to choose from. However, they didn't just add a drop seat to their existing design. They moved the rear entry shoulder zipper down near the waist. One big zipper that goes almost all the way around for easy entry, exit, and bathroom stops.
River Tubes
These aren't your cheap Walmart tubes that end the day with a hole of two and in the trash. Many of the raft manufacturers are building some bomb proof tubs for river enjoyment. Search your boat manufacturer of choices website to find the one that best suits you.
Guzzgle H20
The guys at Guggle H2O have packed a carbon block filter and UV-C LED into a small but powerful package mobile package. They have a couple of different models but the one I am most excited about is the Stream. You can hook it up to any water spigot or run the pump to pull water from a stream making it nice and versatile.
Sorry if you can't find some of these items on the internet yet. They are that new!
