This beautiful section of the North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette River is just downstream of the better known "Miracle Mile" and gorge sections. The river is mostly Class II with a few steep Class III/III+ rapids.
This is a great section of whitewater for those looking for a relaxing paddle punctuated with a few steep rapids. The whole run is followed by a road (NF-19) and there are some bridges along the way that allow for shorter runs.
Trip Highlights
Mile 0: Put-in at the NF-19 bridge just downstream of the gorge. There are more difficult rapids upstream for those looking for a more challenging run.
Mile 3.8: Shotgun (III+) contains a steep drop as the river turns to the left.
Mile 4.1: A bridge (Road 1912) provides river access.
Mile 5.3: Bull's-eye (III+) has multiple routes through bedrock. The "Bull's-eye" rock is in the center of the left channel.

Mile 7.4: Ledges (III+) occurs at a big section of bedrock.
Mile 8.3: Watch out for a river wide weir.
Mile 9: Take out in the town of Westfir. There is decent river access to a parking lot on river right at the covered bridge.
