This stretch of the North Fork John Day is a great over night trip! The river feels like one giant class II rapid keeping you moving down stream with ease. Great for beginning rafters, kayakers, and canoeists. You won't be let down by the giant ponderosa pines and stunning desert landscape.
Mile 1: Put-in at a small campground just west of the small town of Dale Oregon.
Mile 28: You will float past the confluence with the Middle Fork of the John Day River.
Mile 44.4: As you float into the town of Monument you will go under a bridge letting you know take-out is just down stream.
